FSO Board Meeting Minutes

Minutes for April 24th FSO Board Meeting

–General FSO Meeting. No general membership present.

1. Closed FSO Board Meeting called to order by Christie Buxton at 8:50. Those present were: Christie Buxton, Brenda Parks, Michele Evans, Melissa Herbert, Sara Skidmore, Joylin Lincoln and Trisha Johnson.

2. Minutes reviewed for March 20th meeting. Joylin motioned approval, 2nd from Melissa. Unanimous vote. Minutes approved.

3. Business
-Volunteer appreciation party moved from April 7th to May 19th. This will give those involved in Teacher Appreciation and the Redhawk Roundup an opportunity to included those hours into their totals.
-All committee heads to put together a folder of what went well, what didn’t go as well and ways to improve their committee. The folder will be used to pass along to future committee heads.

4. Committee Reports
Academic- -Wendy Ford will come back next year to head only the science fair.
Artistic- Kids’ Club-March 24th and 31st went well. Discussion on improvements for next year.
Health & Safety- Carnival info handed out. No one to take over for next year at this time.
Lunch- New Little Caesars’ and Arby’s lunches have a great response from students.
Newsletter- Newsletters April 28, and May 26. Newsletter to include a list of those who have reached their 40 hour volunteer requirement.
Photography- No business at this time.
School Play- No business at this time.
Reading- Discussion of tests and where teachers are with the tests- improvements for next year.
Room Mothers- Room mothers ready to do doors.
Teacher Appreciation- Teacher Appreciation Week-May 8-12. Theme: Fun in the Sun. Teacher breakfasts: Monday and Wednesday, Lunches: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Parent volunteers to cover meals while teachers are away. Everyday teachers will be presented with something. Monday morning kickoff and Friday afternoon assembly to have activities to thank the teachers. Friday will be a dress-down day.
Yearbook- no business at this time.

5. Budget- all committees presented with update of remaining balances.
