FSO Board Meeting Minutes

August 29th , 2005 6:00-8:00 pm

1. –General FSO Meeting called to order by Christie Buxton at 8:45. No general membership present. Meeting adjourned at 8:45.
-Closed FSO Board Meeting called to order by Christie Buxton at 8:45. Those present were: Christie Buxton, Wendy Ford, Michelle Evans, Melissa Herbert, Joylin Lincoln, Robin Allred, Tara Meyer, Lyndee Hudson, Sarah Skidmore, Thelma Davies, Angie Rasmussen, Brenda Parks, Valerie Mattson, Brigitte Reall and Trisha Johnson were present.

2. Introductions
New and Current Committee Heads were introduced and assigned to either FSO President, Christie Buxton, or President Elect, Joylin Lincoln.
Christie: Academic, Artistic, Newsletter, Lunch, and School Play
Joylin: Health & Safety, Reading, Teacher Appreciation, Yearbook, and Room Mothers.

3. Business
President Report-encouraged loyalty and unity throughout work in committees.
Copies-document any copies in folder in the FSO box in the office. Anything sent home must be approved by Christie or Joylin. FSO to use only orange paper.

4. Committee Reports
Academic-Patriotic Essay-essays on how the United States Constitution positively impacts us as a nation. Entries due Sept 9. Volunteers are needed to judge.
-Wax Museum-will be discussed in Oct. Mtg.
Artistic-Kids club-Refection Theme for 1st set of classes held on Oct. 23rd.
Health & Safety-Red Ribbon Week-Discussion of dates Oct. 10th-14th. Mon morning kick off with Fire and Sheriff Depts. Friday afternoon end of day assembly. Discussion of Teacher to do door competition.
Lunch-Pizzas on Mon. Individually wrapped, Rice Bowl from Hogi Yogi on Fri, no info on prices as yet.
Newsletter- Brigitte new committee head. Newsletters go out Sept 30, Oct 28, Nov 18, Dec 16, Jan 26, Feb 24, Mar 31, April 28, and May 26. Get any info to Brigitte for Sept Newletter by Sept 23rd.
Photography-Robin Allred new committee head. Decided to have all pictures taken at any event to be emailed to Robin by the following day. Reminded there is a camera at the front office if needed. Decided that all pictures need to be digital.
School Play-Tara new committee head. Tryouts on Sept 12thand 13th.
Reading-AR Parties still need info on how teachers set goals for party. To be one hour long at the end of day.
Room Mothers-Tea is Sept 1st. Discussion on when and where to do tea and room mothers coordinating pictures.
Teacher Appreciation- Discussion on how often to hold luncheons.
Yearbook-Discussion about yearbook on CD, Valerie assigned to ask school Board what their opinion regarding class pictures in the history.

5. Budget- Committee Chairs received their budget for the year. Discussion about mini class budget. Reminded to stick to Budgets and clear any changes through Christie or Joylin.
