Minutes for January 23rd FSO Board Meeting

–General FSO Meeting. No general membership present.

1. Closed FSO Board Meeting called to order by Christie Buxton at 9:45. Those present were: Christie Buxton, Michelle Evans, Melissa Herbert, Sara Skidmore, Valerie Mattensen, Angie Rasmussen, Amy Shawgo and Trisha Johnson.

2. Minutes reviewed for Dec 19th meeting. Christie motioned approval, 2nd from Trisha. Unanimous vote. Minutes approved.

3. Business
?Announced that Joylin will be unable to fulfill the FSO Presidency in the 2006-2007 school year. She resigned as FSO Vice President. Amy Shawgo was appointed FSO Vice President with Joylin Lincoln as Acting FSO Vice President for the remainder of the 2005-2006 school year. Discussion of new committee heads for the 2006-2007 school year, no decisions as of yet.

4. Committee Reports
Academic- Spelling Bee-went well.

Science Guy-went well.

Science Fair-Feb. 15th. School winners will go on to district and those winners will go on to the BYU science fair

Artistic- Kids’ Club-went well.

Variety Show-went well.

Health & Safety- no new business.

Lunch-Due to a recent health inspection, pizza will no longer be offered on Mondays. There is an issue with the on-site handling of the food. The remaining orders for the month of January will be fulfilled. Starting in Feb. Mondays will alternate between chicken nuggets and corn dogs both with chips and a drink for $2.25.

Newsletter- Newsletters go out Jan 26, Feb 24, Mar 31, April 28, and May 26. Get any info to Brigitte for Nov Newsletter by Jan 24th. It will be noted that Volunteer Appreciation week will be in April for all those volunteers who have reached their 40-hour yearly goal.

Photography-Discussion of getting pictures for the yearbook by March, no set date as of yet. A new digital camera was purchased for the school and can be checked out at the office.

School Play- The FSO is looking for anyone with a copy of the play.

Reading- Jazz reading contest-Jazz tickets for winner and the school has $100 worth of free books to use as additional prizes.

Room Mothers-no business at this time.

Teacher Appreciation- Teacher Appreciation luncheon Jan. 27th. After school social Feb 6th. Teacher Appreciation week May 8-12.
Yearbook- Pictures for the yearbook need to be submitted to Angie Rasmussen by the end of February. When sending pictures in for the yearbook, pictures with large groups should have the children’s names listed on them.

5. Budget- Health & Safety received monies to cover the cost of remaining pictures needing to be developed monthly. The FSO purchased two sets of halogen lights to be used at school events. Discussion of possible budget for photography-no decision as yet.
