Minutes for March 20th FSO Board Meeting
–General FSO Meeting. No general membership
present.
1. Closed FSO Board Meeting called to order by
Christie Buxton at 8:45. Those present were: Christie
Buxton, Wendy Ford, Valerie Mattensen, Shauna
Vorkink, Angie Rasmussen, Brenda Parks, Michele
Evans and Trisha Johnson.
2. Minutes reviewed for Feb 27th meeting. Trisha
motioned approval, 2nd from Shauna. Unanimous
vote. Minutes approved.
3. Business
-Appreciation given for all the hard work given
by volunteers.
-Volunteer appreciation week April 3-7th. All
volunteers having reached their 40-hour requirement
will be invited to an appreciation party held
April 7th at 2:00 in the gym-pending approval
from Principal Beck. There will be a possible
Fondue Fountain.
-Rad Kid Training-need volunteers to complete
the Rad Kid training through the Sheriff’s
Dept.
-Discussion about moving dates of Wax museum next
year and variety show. Aretta Jarvis mentioned
as a good idea for artistic committee head.
4. Committee Reports
?Academic- PI Day- went great. Discussion of improvement
in upper grades.
?Artistic- Kids’ Club-March 24th and 31st.
K-2 assignments go home Wed. March 22nd.
?Health & Safety- no business at this time.
?Lunch- Discussion of the new Hogi Yogi menu for
next year. Hogi Yogi may have the possibility
of offering free or reduced lunches for low-income
families next year. They offer a five-day menu,
$1.90/day, with a minimum of 100 orders/day. It
was decided to try the Hogi Yogi menu, which is
an Arby’s roast beef sandwich, for Mondays
and Little Caesars Pizza for Fridays. Little Caesars
will individually wrap the pizza slices to stay
within the health code requirements.
?Newsletter- Newsletters Mar 31, April 28, and
May 26. Get any info to Brigitte for March Newsletter
by March 22. Newsletter to include a request for
all Room Mothers to turn in their pictures.
?Photography-No business at this time.
?School Play- No business at this time.
?Reading-Jazz reading competition ended with good
feedback from the teachers about how the drawings
were handled.
?Room Mothers-No business at this time.
?Teacher Appreciation-No business at this time.
?Yearbook- Yearbook was cancelled. Discussion
of putting pictures on CD and selling those in
place of the yearbook. No decision as of yet.
5. Budget- a request for a printout on the remaining
budget.
