FSO Board Meeting Minutes

October 17, 2005 8:45-9:35 am

–General FSO Meeting. No general membership present.

1. Closed FSO Board Meeting called to order by Christie Buxton at 8:45. Those present were: Christie Buxton, Wendy Ford, Michelle Evans, Melissa Herbert, Joylin Lincoln, Robin Allred, Lyndee Hudson, Brenda Park, Valerie Mattson, Shauna Vorkink, Brigitte Reall and Trisha Johnson.

2. Minutes reviewed for Sept 19th meeting. Shauna motioned approval, 2nd from Brigitte. Unanimous vote. Minutes approved.

3. Business
?Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement-Every committee head, and all members of the committee, who use and/or have access to personal and non-personal information related to The Ranches Academy, including but not limited, to student and family personal information lists; must fill out the Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement Form and return to Trisha Johnson.
?Assemblies-Teachers need to be better informed on dismissals from classes to assemblies. Approval to have assemblies and class dismissal procedures must be cleared through Christie or Joylin who will then clear through Principal Beck. When approval is given, instructions for the teachers need to be placed in each of their boxes (At two days in advance of the assembly).
?Appreciation was given to committee heads for all of their hard work and smooth sailing thus far.

4. Committee Reports
Academic- Improvement discussion of future Wax Museums. Robin heading Geography Bee. Packet should come before Nov 15th.

Artistic-Improvement discussion of Kids club and ideas for next time include: Older kids-rocket building, cake decorating, T-shirt painting, leather work, Younger kids- T-shirt painting, watercolor painting. Please contact Shauna Vorkink with any ideas.

Health & Safety- Picture display discussion of Red Ribbon Week. Concluded Robin would put 3x5 pictures of events on wall by office. Safety Kid Kickoff early Nov, will have an end-of-day assembly.

Lunch-Going well. Still need volunteers

Newsletter- Newsletters go out Oct 28, Nov 18, Dec 16, Jan 26, Feb 24, Mar 31, April 28, and May 26. Get any info to Brigitte for Oct Newsletter by Oct 20th.

Photography-Pictures taken by anyone at any event need to be emailed to Angie Rasmussen at the front desk by Mon Oct. 24th

School Play- Improvement discussion of dances. Play will be held Nov 16-17. Idea to have school kids view play on Nov 15th at the end of school.

Reading-AR info will come home after the kick-off party Nov 4th. The students will learn how to use the AR system at the kickoff.

Room Mothers-Room mothers asked to take pictures at events.

Teacher Appreciation- Teacher Appreciation Luncheon Oct. 24th from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Menu is Taco Soup. If anyone has fall table decorations they would loan for this event, please have them at the school by 11:45.

Yearbook- No updates at this time.

5. Budget- Anyone submitting reimbursement forms were asked to please total the amounts and have the committee head sign off on them before submitting the receipts.
