FSO Board Meeting Minutes
September 19, 2005 8:45-9:30
am
–General FSO Meeting. No general membership
present.
1. Closed FSO Board Meeting called to order by
Christie Buxton at 8:46. Those present were: Christie
Buxton, Wendy Ford, Michelle Evans, Melissa Herbert,
Joylin Lincoln, Robin Allred, Brenda Park, Valerie
Mattson, Shauna Vorkink, Brigitte Reall and Trisha
Johnson were present.
2. Minutes reviewed for Aug 29th meeting. Melissa
motioned approval, 2nd from Shauna. Unanimous
vote. Minutes approved.
3. Business
President Report-FSO Board Members volunteer hours
for attending FSO Board meetings will automatically
be recorded by FSO Secretary.
Copies-document any copies in folder in the FSO
box in the office. FSO to use only orange paper.
4. Committee Reports
Academic- The Wax Museum will be held on Oct
12th at 6:30 p.m., sign ups will be in Sept. Newsletter.
Artistic-Kids club-classes are ready to go,
still a need for two classrooms.
Health & Safety- Planning mtg Sept. 23rd
for Red Ribbon Week-Oct. 10th-14th. The plan so
far is to have the Mon morning kick off with Fire
and Sheriff Depts. Friday afternoon end of day
assembly.
Lunch-Going well. Changes: no fruit cup with
the rice bowl, will result in a reduction in price.
New price is $2.00
Newsletter- Newsletters go out Sept 30, Oct
28, Nov 18, Dec 16, Jan 26, Feb 24, Mar 31, April
28, and May 26. Get any info to Brigitte for Sept
Newsletter by Sept 23rd.
Photography-Decided to have winners’ pictures
blown up to 8x10. Discussion of procedures as
to where pictures go and how to be printed.
School Play- 167 children participating. Principal
Beck will rent a stage. It was decided to use
the stage to rotate the scenes. The play will
take place in the gym. Two more parent volunteers
are needed.
Reading-Lyndee will train Terry Rae on how to
perform the AR tests. Discussion of 1st AR Party.
Room Mothers-Room Mothers Tea went well. Decided
to email teachers for feedback.
Teacher Appreciation- Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
Oct. 24th from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Menu is Taco Soup.
Yearbook-No updates at this time.
5. Budget- Discussion of procedure for FSO reimbursement.
Discussion of Band and Orchestra. The FSO purchased
music stands with monies from surplus of last
year.
